Nursery painted

I finished painting the nursery (I hope....I have moved the painting supplies back to the basement). It is an odd color to me, because it is a different color at different times of the day/different lights. To me, it can be blue, green, or even gray. Porter Paint copied Behr's Rocky Mountain Sky if that tells you anything about the color.

Van is coming to do the crown molding on Thursday. He was scheduled to do it a couple of weeks ago, but got sick. Then, I'll hang blinds and curtain rods. Probably during all this I'll be putting the crib together too.

update

Just wanted to put in an update that all is well. The 20 week ultrasound was good; baby was estimated at 12 ounces at that time. Holly thinks she is getting bigger with this one than with Jessie. That, of course, is a question that I avoid answering. I'd lose no matter what! Ha!

No news to report. The nausea goes on, maybe a little better today.

First Ultrasound

We had the first ultrasound today. Good report. Heart rate 146. Everything looks good. There is only one little bugger in there (Whew!).

Holly continues with the nausea. Today might have been a little better, but still a lot of waves passed by.

The nausea has gotten worse for Holly. She puts up with it way better than I ever could tolerate nausea. She just keeps telling herself that it means the baby is growing! She is very tired these days too. Not enough energy to belch....wait...Yes, she does have enough energy to belch. Trust me on that one.

We think Jessie will likely spill the beans at church or other public places. She occasionally points to Holly's belly button, and says, BAY-BEEEEE!!!!" Pretty funny.

Well, the morning sickness has hit Holly, pretty much exactly the week she predicted it would. But she's handling it fairly well, at least better than I would. That's not saying much though. Sprite and some Preggy Pops helps get her through it, along with some cheese and/or crackers in the middle of the night.

Looks like I'll get to go to the ultrasound on Feb 19th!!! That is the day before I leave for Honduras, but I got clearance from the court clerk to be out of the country that week (I'm in a jury pool). Yeah!!!! I was hoping to get to go. Our first visit with the OB/GYN with Jessie (when she was just Tater) was very exciting!

I think Holly's ultrasound (first) will be on 2/19/09 at 1045, so we may have an US pic to post. I may or may not be able to be there. If I get selected for jury duty, I will be in court, likely. If not, I will be there, but that will be the day before I leave for Honduras.

I want to serve on the jury, but I want to be there for the ultrasound.

**Raising hand at 1030am**
"Um, 'scuse me, Judge Nixon...May I be excused for about an hour and a half? I want to go see an ultrasound."

Doubt that will go over well.

Someone was telling at work their experience the day they were admitted and pitocin was started at 0530, and all the things that happened. It was pretty exciting to hear, as I remember that day well for us. I got a little (big) grin on my face as I walked away. I got pretty excited.

Holly told me the news

Well, tonight we were changing Jessie's diaper. Jessie often plays with an ear (tympanic) thermometer that is kept in the diaper changer. It is "wrapped" in a little baggie.

As soon as I lay Jessie on the diaper table, Holly reached and gave her the bag. Jessie played with it like she usually does, while I wrestled her legs and Holly changed the diaper. I was playing with Jessie, like usual, tickling her toes, or kissing her on the forehead, when I noticed she had something not quite as big as the tympanic thermometer pulled out of the bag.

I said, "What in the world are you playing with?" I took it from her, and realized it was a pregnancy test stick. I turned it over....and it had a big PLUS sign on it!

I looked at Holly and she had this sheepish grin on her face! Wow! How exciting!

We talked a lot that night, and didn't sleep well.
